XBox

MTH loves to play his Xbox. The funny part about it is I'm the one that got the XBox for him. Not on purpose though. I won it through a drawing. Anyway, when MTH gets a new game, he's obsessed.

He now has a new one called Half Life. As usual, the objective is to kill the weird nasty looking aliens (even if they were originally humans that are now inhabited by the aliens) before they kill you. There is some mystery to the games. You have to figure out where to go and there really isn't a guide book. The biggest reason I don't like the games is that they are loud and the noises are not fun to listen to.

When MTH plays his football games though, it can be fun because it's kind of like watching a real game (although he did one lead UB to winning season - unfortunately, that's not reality - yet).

It's almost time for New Years!

Working...

I worked the entire day with barely a break. I didn't expect to work this hard but hopefully I'm almost done and will not have to do any more work until next Tuesday morning in Richmond. For those of you that are not aware, I work in two locations, McLean and Richmond. I have to travel to Richmond 2 days a week. At least half of our team is located there, so it's definitely necessary for us to be there.

Enough about work (even if that is the title of my post). I really don't have much to talk about today since I spent my time mostly working. I did get to notice that Phoebe (my cat) spends the entire day laying in her cat bed. That must be the life. I wish that I could sleep that much sometimes. I usually wake up at around 6:30am (even on the weekends). The problem is that I'm lazy and still stay in bed even though I'm awake. I could get so much done on the weekends. I do have a long list for the next few days. I hope that I can get it all done.

I just noticed that Phoebe is sitting on top of her litter box (it's one of those covered kind). Not sure what she's doing there but she seems to be pretty relaxed. I'll have to add a picture of her here soon. She's a cutey even if she can be very mean. At least, she loves me.

It's a new day

I was told by MAK that I'm not boring and therefore the name of my blog should not be My Boring Life. Her suggestion was A Statistician's Life. I'm thinking that I don't want to define myself by my work so that's probably not going to make the final cut. (MAK - thanks for telling me I'm not boring!!!).

With that, I'm going to decide right now the new name of my blog. It's going to be "And Where Is Baxley?". That's in honor of the fact that 99.9% of the people in the world have no clue of the city that I grew up in. If I mention that I'm from Georgia, the first assumption is Atlanta. If I then say I'm from South GA, then the assumption is either Savannah or somewhere just off of I-75 (everyone's driven through GA to get to FL!).

Since I did spend 12 full years there as well as summers during my college time, it has definitely defined me. I think the funniest thing that ever happened to me (that I can remember) that has to do with North meets South was the time that someone told me he couldn't believe that I was as smart as I was with my accent. For those of you that think I have an accent now, you ain't heard nuthin!

From now on, no more discussion of what we're going to call this blog.

My First Post

I'm thinking about starting a blog but as you can tell by my title, I'm not sure if I'll have enough interesting things to add. We'll see how often I'm able to post as well as how many comments that I receive based on these posts. If you're reading this post, most likely it's because I sent you an email letting you know that I've now started a blog (peer pressure always works - I want to be just like everyone else).

Right now, my life is all about work. I worked on Saturday and Sunday. I was feeling very stressed that I wasn't going to finish my Christmas shopping in time. But, lo and behold, the mall had extended hours on Sunday and was open until 9pm!!! It was awesome. There was no one there. I was able to zip into each store and get what I wanted. Plus, they were pretty well stocked.

I also was able to bake a batch of chocolate chip cookies. The downside is that I have 2 more batches of cookie dough in the freezer and I have no idea when I'm going to bake them. I have a party at 7pm tonight and another one tomorrow. Then, we leave for Boone on Wednesday morning. I could take them with me but SM's oven doesn't work very well.

I would say that I'm going to post a picture of our beautiful Christmas tree with Phoebe laying under it but I don't know how yet and I don't have time to figure it out. Maybe I'll be able to post New Years' pictures.
