Phoebe
Amazingly, Phoebe is holding up very well with Peanut in the house. The beginning was not good. Peanut decided he needed a diaper change the moment we walked in the door from the hospital. But, the Pack and Play was not set up yet so we had to get everything together and do it on the couch. Well, he was crying loudly so Phoebe had to check out what was going on. But, we didn't want her there so MTH's Mom was pushing her to get away. She started puffing up but did not swat or bite (I think there may have been a little hissing). Then, Peanut decided to pee right straight up into the air (see Automatic Sprinkler picture below :) I'm sure a video of the scene would have been great especially it took three of us to change him. Needless to say, we've gotten a lot better. And, Phoebe has been a little curious but has not jumped into the Pack and Play, co-sleeper or the changing table! She doesn't get on our bed that much anymore. The good part though is otherwise she seems pretty much the same. When she's content, she holds her tail in the air and she's doing that again.

My Current Muses
I haven't gotten into photography like ETK but I do use my camera a fair amount. My two "muses" are MTH and Phoebe. Here's a few (plus two by MTH)
Of course, the expectation is that I (and MTH) will have a new muse in less than 3 months! I'm sure you'll be inundated!

Phoebe The "Not so Terror" Cat

Phoebe, The Empress of The Fan
I am currently sitting on the bed trying to update my blog. Phoebe is sitting on my lap but also across my arm. Typing is not quite as easy as normal. Somehow, she is the most independent needy cat I've ever known. When we returned home from our 1 1/2 week vacation, I thought she was going to turn herself inside out trying to be close to me. This behavior lasted for a week. Then, she was off to herself again. Now, a few days later, I guess she has missed me just long enough. It really keeps me from getting things done around the house but I have to take advantage of the times that she wants to "hang out".

Phoebe The Terror Cat
So, Phoebe went to the vet today. Not a good scene. First she was weighed and that went ok. She's 9 pounds, 3 ounces - healthy! Then, it went downhill. She jumped off the exam table. The vet tried to get her and if any of you are familiar with Phoebe you know what happened next - she started hissing. Then, of course, since the vet wasn't going to leave her alone - she needed her distemper and rabies shots - Phoebe started growling as well. After putting her back in the cage, bringing in an assistant, getting some huge leather gloves and a towel, Phoebe got her shots. At the end, the vet apologized for not doing the full exam - she wasn't able to look at Phoebe's teeth. I can't say that I blame her for not looking! We don't have to go back for a year. The vet said that she can give us a pill for Phoebe next time that will make her more docile. So, basically, Phoebe has to be on drugs to go to the vet!

Phoebe The Cat: Her Favorite Word
It's 'Shower'. So, maybe I'm humanizing Phoebe by thinking that she can understand me when I say 'Shower'. But, she seems to understand as she starts running towrds the bathroom. Then, once I'm in the shower, she balances herself on the edge near the faucet so she can lick up the water that's dripping from the showerhead. Then, when I'm done, she continues to balance and licks the drops that come out. Sometimes, she even sits in the bathtub. For some reason, she loves this water. Here's some pictures to show how cute she is. In our new house, she's going to be very disappointed. The two bathrooms iwth showers do not have bathtubs that enable her to reach the faucet while we're taking a shower.

Here she's trying to catch a water drop with her paw! She sometimes almost falls into the bathtub trying for the waterdrops
Nice action shot - she's jumping into the tub
She's now sitting in the tub getting more of that fresh water
